Jacques Laroche

Jacques Laroche is one of the founders of Théâtre de la Petite Marée and has been its artistic director since 2008.
He graduated from the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Québec in 1993. Since then, he has always been at the heart of contemporary Quebec creation. In addition to founding the TPM in 1994, he was behind Productions Préhistoriques and the OFFTA. He has collaborated with the creative companies Moutons Noirs, Porteuses d'Aromates, Biches Pensives, Théâtre Tandem, Qui va là? and above all Théâtre du Sous-Marin Jaune.
He has taken part in all the Sous-Marin Jaune's creations - Candide, La Bible, Le discours de la méthode, Les Essaies de Montaigne, Kanata, Guerre et Paix - and traveled throughout French-speaking Europe, under the guidance of its artistic director: the puppet, Loup Bleu.
He has also taken on some thirty roles in theater. He has been directed by Claude Poissant, Serges Denoncourt, Michel Nadeau, Gil Champagne, Antoine Laprise, Jean-Pierre and Alice Ronfard, among others. He is also recognized for his expertise in puppetry, clowning and buffooning.
He teaches at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique de Québec.
