He has toured the globe with some of the biggest names, from the trailblazing Senegalese hip hop group Positive Black Soul, of which he was a key member for some twenty years, to Youssou N’Dour, MC Solaar, Ky-Mani Marley, Omar Pène, IAM, Lara Fabian, Stromae and many others. Griot, seasoned percussionist and kora player, the “discreet hero of Senegalese music” (Africultures, 2013) trained with the Orchestre national du Sénégal and has continuously honed his technique throughout his career, while enjoying exploring different musical paths along the way as well as adapting to modern genres such as mbalax, afrorap, dancehall, afro-reggae, rumba, afro jazz, afrobeat, wassoulou, blues, rock, pop and afro-zouk.
