The Good Teacher + Pour le rôle
More dates
The life of Julien, a young French teacher, turns into a nightmare when one of his pupils accuses him of harassment.
Distraught, he plunges into a downward spiral of homophobia, violence and cowardice. Teddy Lussi-Modeste films his own story, in a screenplay co-written with Audrey Diwan (Emmanuelle, L'Événement) that reminds us of the futility of presuming innocence when rumors are already rife. François Civil (Les Trois Mousquetaires) is perfect in the role of this - real - character afflicted by fate, whose taste for transmission will overcome everything. This film is a gift to the teaching profession, which often feels abandoned by its hierarchy.
