Plateau double : Jeanne Côté & Willows

En plateau double : Jeanne Côté hails from Petite-Vallée, on the Gaspé Peninsula, and it doesn't let her go: born into a family of musicians, she's obsessed with the human connections, windows and river that accompany her everywhere.
After releasing the Aller-retour EP (2019), produced by Louis-Jean Cormier, the singer-songwriter unveils her first full-length album, Suite pour personne, released in January 2024 and produced by Émilie Proulx and Arthur Bourdon-Durocher. In the spring of 2023, the artist took part in the 27th edition of the Francouvertes, winning first place in this showcase competition. Rooted in the piano, Jeanne Côté offers a pop-folk-alternative universe in which voice and lyrics take center stage. Through luminous, immersive songs, she explores the loneliness, joys and scattered landmarks of the twenties. Jeanne Côté carries a quiet strength, influenced by the women who have always inspired her, from Marie-Jo Thério to Kate Bush to her grandmother Denise. In 2014, Geneviève Toupin released an album under the alter-ego Willows. Her delicate blend of folk, acoustic instruments and vocal harmonies will have seen her perform over a hundred shows and win Best Western Canadian Album at the Gala Trille Or, as well as GAMIQ nominations for Best Folk Album (Willows/Willows), Best Folk EP (The Hills/Willows) and Canadian Folk Music Awards as Songwriter of the Year. A seasoned musician and singer, she has appeared on stage as a founding member of the electro-pop group CHANCES, as a musician/vocalist in the show Danse Lhasa Danse and as a backing vocalist in Jorane's show Hemenetset. Willows creates authentic work in both French and English. In 2021, she released The Hills, an EP of indie-folk songs produced by Joseph Marchand (Pierre Lapointe, Safia Nolin). The performance is co-presented by the Ville de Gatineau and the Alliance française d'Ottawa.
