Sal de Calle’s irresistible melodies are a powerful breath of freedom.
Combining the sacred music of Santeria, son and rumba with jazz, all their creations refer to the African origins of Latin music, and to the destiny and resilience of the millions of slaves who settled on the island of Cuba. Nourished by the intensity of their percussion and their mastery of strings, improvisation and dialogue between instruments are at the heart of this group’s approach, which brings together musicians from Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, France and Canada.
