Passion tout-terrain by Marie-Andrée Ouimet is a sculptural work representing Butch identity.
A motocross bike and clothing accessories made from recycled cardboard pay tribute to female masculinity while celebrating the beauty of nature. The piece features a motorcycle overtaken by organic elements, a helmet covered in lichen, gloves with sharp nails, a flamboyant chest plate, and boots with a plant-like appearance. This creation combines sculpture and drawing, with each piece carefully hand-painted in gouache. Up close, drawn lines add an extra layer of depth to the work. Passion tout-terrain inaugurates La Vitrine FC, a new summer initiative by Folie/Culture aimed at showcasing the work of emerging artists in our street-facing display window on Saint-Vallier East. For this first edition, we are proud to present a piece that celebrates the diversity of gender identities and the richness of practices from LGBTQIA+ communities. On view at all times from June 26 to August 3, the installation invites passersby to pause, observe, and reflect. The opening will take place on June 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. — a chance to see the work up close and visit our offices. 📅 Dates: June 26 to August 3 / On view at all times 📍 Location: Folie/Culture offices, 261 Saint-Vallier East Street, Québec City, G1K 3P4 🕔 Opening: June 26, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
