The exhibition traces the career of Jinyoung Kim, a Korean-born artist active in the Montreal scene for over ten years.
It showcases various bodies of photographic, video, and sculptural work. The exhibition offers a conceptual reading of Kim's art, positioning her as an active witness to a changing environment rather than a mere storyteller.
"Here" represents a space of belonging, where the feeling of belonging develops. This space is often fluctuating, temporary, and shaped by both the people who inhabit it and its physical construction, including the objects we cherish and those we leave behind. "Here" invites viewers to explore the interiority of a house that can be seen from the outside. It reflects the necessity of living within the increasing precarity of our social, political, and economic contexts.
