Curious about everything, Telemann was tirelessly active throughout his life. His pen cultivated every genre, creating a smiling synthesis of the best of all the national styles of his time. We admire his inexhaustible melodic richness, where humor is everywhere in evidence, his ingenious and sometimes astonishing turns of phrase, his rhythmic ease, and his ability to express himself. In one of his three (!) autobiographies, Telemann admits to being somewhat dissatisfied with his concertos... With all due respect, we beg to differ with him by presenting a program featuring some of the finest concertante works by the man who, in his time, brought joy to all of Europe.
