Clara Painchaud
Clarænce Painchaud is an artist working and residing in Tiohti:áke/Mooniyang who approaches perspectives related to queer ecology.
Their sprawling practice uses writing, sculpture, performative mouvement and video to create speculative fictions to create installations. They are currently a candidate for a master's degree in visual and media arts practice at UQAM. They have been the recipient of numerous grants and of the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. Their work has been exhibited at La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse in Montreal, at Caravansérail in Rimouski and at the Art image gallery in Gatineau. Clarænce was also a curator for the window showcase of the artist center L’imprimerie with the collective Les adventices in 2022 and forms with Laurence Dauphinais the duo Ecto who will present their work at Îles-de-la-Madeleine in 2023.
