Didon et Énée
Abandoned Dido mourns her lost love.
Ema Nikolovska and Tyler Duncan bring Purcell's tragedy to life, accompanied by Bernard Labadie, Les Violons du Roy, and La Chapelle de Québec.
The final lament, poignantly beautiful, has moved audiences for three centuries. A masterpiece of Baroque musical theatre.
H. PURCELL, Dido and Æneas, Z. 626 (Concert version, with prologue reconstructed by T. Dart and M. Laurie)
