Eveline Ménard | Prince Canari

Welcome to the great forest of stories, where anything can happen.
.. Once upon a time, the storyteller Eveline Ménard traveled the trail of stories with you. In this interactive tale, you will discover the magical adventure of this yellow Prince like a canary in an enchanting setting which will transform before your eyes like origami. You will meet a princess caught in a tower, animals who transform before your eyes, a prince who flies, a porcupine who stings and an old fairy who is a bit of a magician! This show combines storytelling, movement and manipulation of objects. Inspired by the Italian tale Prince Canary collected by Italo Calvin o A storyteller for twenty-five years, Eveline Ménard places traditional tales at the heart of her practice. Captivated by the imagination of young children, she creates dynamic and interactive shows that amaze them. She also carries out numerous cultural mediation and transmission projects in the Canadian Francophonie and abroad. In 2022, she won the Performing Arts award for Prince Canari, Indigenous Artist of the Year, for Wheel of Time with Atikamekw storyteller Karine Echaquan in Lanaudière. Then in 2023, she was honored in the education category and received the annual prize from the Conseil québécois du patrimoine vivant for the project Sur les traces d’Adélard.
