① REPUBLIC: The State of Quebec | SIMON BEAUDRY (Montréal)

In REPUBLIC: The State of Quebec, Simon Beaudry assumes the dual roles of artist and curator to imagine the Quebec that might have emerged following a Yes victory in the 1995 referendum. By bringing together his signature works and those of invited artists, he shapes a republic that is both fictional and tangible, where memory, identity, and political aspirations converge.

② Natural Unions | AMÉLIE COURTOIS (Mashteuiatsh) + CHARLES SAGALANE (Saint-Gédéon)

In an open-air creative research project, multidisciplinary artist Amélie Courtois and undisciplined poet Charles Sagalane experimented with ways of naturally coming together. Between themselves. In the in-between. With the rest of the world.

For nearly two years, they travelled through a variety of territories, forest, lake, river, cultural, literary, and inner landscapes, collecting fragments of reality and welcoming the unwelcomable. Through their myth of the “collector-binder,” the artists assembled a living, shifting, and sensitive repertoire that takes shape within the undefined contours of the exhibition Natural Unions.

Through a wide range of artistic forms, this nomadic creative duo explored the fertile and poetic connections that flow between gathering, journeys, encounters, and transmission. In their daily practice, Amélie and Charles cultivate an intuitive approach, driven by the insatiable curiosity of one who discovers and the wonder of one who creates.
