On October 2, Sporobole will host the grand opening of Amélie Laurence Fortin’s latest exhibition, which will run through November 27, 2026!
“Apis Mellifera Concerto” by Amélie Laurence Fortin is a sound, sculptural, and video installation that delves into research on the behavioral intelligence of bees. Created following a residency at Sporobole as part of the Chantier IA (sound cohort) in 2025, the work invites viewers to explore questions related to the language of human life, non-human life, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Through consultations and meetings with scientific research groups studying non-human collective intelligence—specifically that of bees—the artist gathered knowledge, information, and data. Using this material, she worked closely with our developer Renaud Gervais to develop a generative system that translates behavior into sound, enabling her to create a spatialized soundscape that forms part of the artwork.

The start of the fall season is the perfect opportunity to discover Amélie Laurence Fortin’s new installation, which explores our relationship with the intelligence of bees and what it can teach us about our own relationship with the technological and natural worlds!

Opening reception: October 2, 2026, with a 5@7!
