Mirror by Maryse Lemay

“Miror” features a selection of paintings that evoke a moment frozen in time. This collection reflects the artist’s journey as a painter and as a human being. “As creators,” Lemay explains, “the artwork is a constant reflection of who we are. As viewers, the work resonates with something deep within us. Abstract art possesses this reflective quality that reveals facets of ourselves the more we observe it. Open to personal interpretation, abstract art offers great freedom to the viewer. Our reaction to colours, lines, shapes, and textures is deeply personal, both emotive and intellectual. In the creative process, every decision can reveal intense feelings, sometimes even unconscious ones. Creating then becomes an inner journey, an exploration into the heart of one’s self."

Maryse Lemay is a self-taught artist who has, over the past ten years, devoted countless hours to exploring and experimenting with different avenues within her artistic practice. Her approach is ultimately guided by a desire to create with complete freedom, in a space where intuition plays a central role. Every day in the studio is another step toward creative freedom.

“Mirror” is accompanied by original music composed by the artist and her band, Menthüll. Visitors are invited to scan the QR code to access this musical piece and extend the experience. The use of headphones is recommended during the visit.
