Simon Beaudry presents REPUBLIC: The State of Quebec, an exhibition in which he assumes the dual roles of artist and curator to imagine the Quebec republic that might have emerged had the Yes side prevailed in the 1995 referendum.

Simon Beaudry presents REPUBLIC: The State of Quebec, an exhibition in which he assumes the dual roles of artist and curator to imagine the Quebec republic that might have emerged had the Yes side prevailed in the 1995 referendum.
Bringing together his signature works and those of other artists, selected to complement and expand the corpus of his republic, Beaudry constructs a territory that is both real and imaginary. This territory celebrates Quebec culture while reminding us, with a touch of irony and lucidity, of what might have happened, or what may yet come to pass.
Through three acts, alienation, liberation, and republic, REPUBLIC: The State of Quebec offers a direct and engaged vision of Quebecโs history and its possible future.
