Rien n'est figé, an exhibition by the Gatineau visual arts collective
Aug 25, 2026 - Oct 11, 2026
Centre culturel du Vieux-Aylmer | Espace Pierre-Debain Gatineau, Québec

The exhibition will be on display from August 26 to October 11, 2026.
Nothing escapes time. Stone slowly polishes itself, water slips through our fingers, seasons change the landscape, beings transform, and even buildings, which we believe to be solid and immutable, eventually crumble and reinvent themselves. Fixing movement is the paradox that art makes possible. Through their works, the artists of the Gatineau Visual Arts group explore the impermanence and metamorphosis of beings, nature, and our human constructions. Each piece reminds us that Rien n'est figé ( nothing is fixed) except the image we retain of it, inviting us to contemplate the ephemeral and celebrate the beauty of transformation. We invite you to attend the exhibition opening on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
