Check out “Strates,” a new temporary visual art exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Audrey Sambeau.
“Strates” is a series of ten paper-based works, from which enlargements and digital prints were created to adapt them to an outdoor exhibition setting.
Composed of superimposed layers of paper, the works echo the underground dimension of the Pointe-du-Buisson site—which is invisible but bears witness to millennia of history—with “strates” referring to the successive layers that accumulate over time in the soil. Each work incorporates handmade paper that contains a different type of residual material—remnants of the contemporary traces we leave behind.
