The French called us Hurons.
We are and have always been Wendat.
Since time immemorial, our Nation has demonstrated tenacity, resilience and a strong sense of identity with the result that today, our culture and traditions are as much a part of our lives as they were for our ancestors.
Over the centuries, numerous upheavals brought changes to the lives of our people. We adapted and adopted various items, manufacturing techniques and materials, integrating the modern world into our culture, while respectfully preserving the traditions and heritage of our ancestors.
Our Nation welcomes you to Onyionhwentsiio (We have a magnificent territory).
Yiheh – Welcome to our home.
