Waskapitan
Waskapitan, which means "let's come together" in Atikamekw, is a major Indigenous cultural initiative that transforms downtown Joliette each year into a vibrant space for meeting, dialogue, and collective creation to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.
By fully utilizing public space, the event fosters inclusive civic engagement and brings together thousands of people around artistic performances, craft booths, participatory workshops, and cultural exchanges.
